    DDR3 1333Mhz or 1600Mhz on my Gigabyte motherboard

    Hi,
    I want to buy an ddr3 ram for my system
    Sapphire HD 4870 X2
    AMD X4 phenom II 955 Black Edition
    Gigabyte motherboard
    windows vista 64 bit OS

    I want to know what is the different price, speed ? whether the difference in speed really much with DDR3 1333 and whether the price is worth.

    There is a difference in price and speed between 1333MHz and 1600MHz. buy ddr 3 1600MHz just because you will get better latency CL8 at 1600MHz compared to 1333MHz at CL9. that will make your choice easier.

    Besides the fact that CL7 faster thanCL8 and CL9 . CL7 is also on a faster 1600MHz to 1333MHz because CL7 latency values expressed in clock's and 1 clock at 1600MHz and 1333MHz is shorter.

    It is better to buy ddr3 1333 and overclock to 1600. For that you should be able to keep tight timings of 1333 and still bump to 1600 depending on how much boost you want to give it. For your information Core i7 doesn't use more than 1333mhz.
