ASUS M2N-E SLi won't boot with 4gb ram

    hi,
I have problem with my motherboard (Asus M2N-E SLI). I have 2 x 2 GB Kingston HyperX RAM is (according to the QVL list are also supported with no problems). In installation, nothing happened ... after the PC starts its time to beep only. No video! I build only one bolt that goes up the PC correctly. Both bars have individually tested, are both OK. Once both bolts are in it, does nothing more. What has happened and what is the solution? Can anyone help!!!

    Hello,
you have also specified the voltage can easily be possible that the board only 1.8 volts, these bars would be too little, adjust the voltage to 1.9 volts times or when specified to 2.0 volts and do the 2nd bolt again , then it should go without problems. The timings are set correctly, hopefully yes.

They are always in the same color sockets put out .... but it is not, this is only important for Dual Channel. It is usually on the tension and perhaps overly optimistic in timing. Both bars inserted in yellow, and DDR2 voltage to 1.9 times, and then to 1.95 V increases. Higher voltage 1.95 V as the Board can not too.

Re: ASUS M2N-E SLi won't boot with 4gb ram

I have a similar problem, but my machine won't boot at all. I bought 8gb of RAM thinking I could get some extra performance, actually due to my impulsiveness I bought 2 pairs of the first item that came up when I searched "2gb ram" thinking they were each 2gb, but that's my own idiocy.. I now have at least 4gb of RAM that I will likely never use. I don't know what to do. I've taken it to a repair shop, and they couldn't get it to do what I wanted so they charged me $50 for looking at it and gave everything back. Maybe I should create a thread?

Which ram module you are having? Because as per the motherboard technical specification it supports 8GB ram provided it is DDR2 SDRAM or higher technology. Otherwise you can try using a 2GB ram and then boot. If the computer boots and operating system gets loaded then its certainly compatibility problem.

Most of the user are facing similar problem. The reason behind it is the incompatibility of memory module. Here each RAM differs in MHz. Like some RAM comes in 600Mhz range and some in 800Mhz range. All the memory sticks your are using should be of same type. It is better to go with a lower amount RAM around 3 gigs. It is also possible that the slots in the motherboard are not functioning properly.

I dunno, I have 2 slightly different modules in right now, a 2gb OCZ one at 800mhz and a 1gb Corsair one at 800mhz, timings are 5-5-8-14 now, the OCZ stuff will do 4-4-12 and the Corsair ones have a sticker that says 5-5-8. I'm not sure what to make of only 3 numbers. Also, CPU-Z recognizes both modules exactly properly.
