As you have said that you are facing the problem with graphic card in your computer after updating the BIOS and that is why I would like ask you that does your system was detecting the second graphic card before BIOS update or before BIOS update also you were getting the same issue? I am asking you because you have mentioned that you were having issue with the graphic card before BIOS update also.

you have not mentioned anything regarding which graphic card you are using and which motherboard and that is why I will request you to firs post your information about computer configuration so that I can provide you solution according to that.

Re: After doing BIOS update unable use 2nd graphic card

I have read your system configuration and I will first suggest you that you should try to solve this problem by remove in both graphic from your computer and then connect it with your computer properly. as you have said that your computer is not detecting one graphic card and many times this type of issue occurs because of the connection issue. first open the cabinet of the computer and after that you have to remove both the graphic card from your computer and after removing both the graphic card you have to put it back in your system properly and after that you have to start the computer and then you have to check whether your computer is able to see both the graphic card or not. I think after trying this solution your problem will get solved.

Have you cleared the CMOS physically after updating the BIOS in your computer? if you have not cleared the CMOS physically then you have to first do that and after doing that you have to see whether it makes any difference or not.

To clear the CMOS physically in your computer you have to follow these steps.

    • First you have to turn off the computer completely.
    • After that you have to Unplug all the cables of computer.
    • Then you have to Press the power button.
    • Which will clears all the capacitors.
    • After doing the you have to shift the CMOS jumper.
    • After moving the CMOS jumper you have to wait 1minute.
    • Now after that you have to Move CMOS jumper back to original place.
    • Now CMOS is cleared and you should plug all the cable and start the computer.

After that check whether your computer is recognizing the second graphic card or not.

I was also having the same problem with my system also and after that I have also cleared the CMOS in my computer but after clearing the CMOS also I was facing the same issue and then I have checked my computer PCI slots by inserting the different graphic card and after that I come to know that problem is with the PCI slot. I think you should also check whether PCI slots in your system are working fine or not.

Re: After doing BIOS update unable use 2nd graphic card

I have searched for the solution regarding the problem which you are facing in your computer and I would like to tell you that you have to first check whether you have installed the necessary drivers or not. if you have not installed the necessary drivers then I think you should first uninstall the all the drivers of graphic card from your computer and after removing the graphic card you have to restart the computer. Now after rebooting the PC you have to first reinstall the chipset drivers in your computer and after reinstalling the Chipset drivers you have to install the graphic card drivers and after that you have to see whether your system is able to see the second graphic card or not.

As far as I know reinstalling the drivers will solve this issue.

Well you may also try to solve this issue by updating the drivers your system. Because many times updating the drivers also enables the system to identify the hardware properly. go to the official site of the Nvidia and after that you have to download the latest drivers and then install in your computer and check about the difference.
