Unable to access Skype on Sony Bravia - KDL-40EX524.

Hello everyone guys I need your help there is some minor issues with the LED TV Sony Bravia - KDL-40EX524 I have bought in last week, I have really liked this TV in the Ads and its applications and the features which we can use on the like you tube, Freeview HD, and the Skype. Actually I was really excited to use the Skype because I need this application the most of the time. But on TV there was no Skype. Please help, that program is must for me.

Well dude I don’t have Sony Bravia - KDL-40EX524 but I have heard about this TV this, this is TV has many features which was previously available only on the PC or laptop and mobile phones like Skype and all. Dude this is is minor thing you just have to perform program update in the firmware and then I think you will get the Skype on your TV. I got this answer on the Google hope it will work you, just give it a try.

Hey dude thanks a lot for reverting so quickly that’s what I was also thinking for a programupdate but I don’t know much about this stuffs so I didn’t performed it. But after reading your post I have performed the program update on the TV in firmware. But still there is no positive result. Now I am bit tensed because of the Skype issue if there won’t any solution in the end I have to call the service center and they will take 2-3 weeks to resolve this problem.

Well guys there is finally the firmware update “sony_tvupdate_2011_3121_eua_auth.zip ( 68,346,065 bytes )” is available for the “Sony Bravia - KDL-40EX524” even I was waiting for the same thing, some improvements in the latest update are Skype, twitter, facebook, VAIO remote keyboard, USB HDD recording, Audio theatre control widget. You can download in from the Sony official web site in the “Download” section. Its working for me.

Yeah it has many new features and it available for various other Sony models also mine is Sony Bravia KDL-24EX320. And here’s the download and installation procedure for the firmware, First search for the firmware update on Sony site in download sections “sony_tvupdate_2011_3121_eua_auth.zip ( 68,346,065 bytes )” then accept the disclaimer on the page and begin the downloading. And then extract the files fromzip file and copy the “sony_dtv0FA10A01A0A1_00000100” in USB and then connect that USB to the TV and follow the screen instructions.

Thanks a lot guys for letting me know about the firmware release I didn’t had any idea about that. And after reading the above posts I have downloaded the latest firmware upgrade from the Sony web site and then followed they given instruction on the TV and luckily it worked for me guys, thank you guys for helping me out else I would have given it to the support team unnecessarily.
