VGA vs DVI vs HDMI

I want some information the topic of the video interfaces. I want the comparison of the VGA, DVI and HTMI. I want to know that which of this one is better for the gaming purpose. I want the detailed difference between their performance part i.e. information related to their response time, refresh rate etc. Give view on this topic.

I want to tell one thing to you that instead of the differences there are lot of similarities between the DVI and HDIM. As you have ask about the difference so i will provide the difference only. The only difference between the DVI and HDIM is related with the connector. I am have a 22" LCD monitor connected via DVI and an HDTV connected to it with HDMI. According to me there is no difference between them.

I want to clear one thing from you that the DVI and the HDIM are the same , in terms of image quality wise. The main difference is that the HDMI carries audio as well as video and makes use of different type of connectors, but the DVI does not make use of different connectors. Even the same encoding scheme is used by both of them, due to which DVI source can be connected to an HDMI monitor .

Thanks to all those who have given their reply. Actually now i have the clear idea about the three video interfaces. By referring your posts my problem is being solved. Initially i was having the confusion between the DVI and the HDIM. I request you all that, if you are still have some information regarding this topic then please make a post of it.
