If you opt for a 42'' or more, a plasma without hesitating, I had 2 LCD ( HDTV and a full house ) , and well they have all been replaced by two plasmas and quality is no comparison ! 2 full hd Panasonic 42'' a slab and a 50'' G11 NeoPDP ( G12 ) is simply excellent and very deep black , very good record in SD , even with a VCR or LCD gives a horrible image plasma even 's there is no miracle displays an image much more watchable , comparable to what gives a CRT with this kind of source and no marking, failing which no longer exists , despite a lot of video games or logo chain , do not leave by the vendors packing and printing store or LCD are valued by their high luminosity to be at home and too often unnecessary which makes it very strong but in a well lit store .

The vast majority of the market, we will not speak here of LCD Active Matrix TFT (thin -film transistor) . These screens are based on a TFT substrate containing transistors , resistors and wiring electrodes for applying a voltage between it and the color filter, which are sub -pixel red green and blue. Liquid crystals are injected between two glass plates , after which two sheets of polarizing film is then attached to the outer surface of the whole . Finally , it releases the data lines to connect integrated circuits ( LCD driver IC ) . Each pixel is individually addressable from the tongues of connection to the rows and columns, since all are connected through the matrix. This is the main advantage of active matrix displays .

Acer P225HQL clear argument in favor of LED backlighting in consumer and although we can not draw a definitive conclusion for all monitors, it is very likely that this technology is more efficient than neon . Consumption of CRT seems as it was anachronistic : it takes 3 LCD monitors to arrive at a single 19-inch CRT , a ratio that will surely to 4 cons in a very short time. Apart from this, LCDs emit far less heat than CRTs for the same reasons , an argument at this time.

At usual comfort comes first and we must consider other factors such as ambient light , programs , and student preferences. That said, we win to see what level of brightness is set to play on : a spreadsheet does not require more than 250 cd / m² and many are settled / leave the brightness at a level too high, which is harmful to eyes . So that is a source of energy savings more than easy access .

Re: High speed photos: 120hz LCD vs CRT

On the CRT , there is no real problems due to the resolution. For cons , the flagstone LCD is made up of thousands of small crystals forming the fixed pixels . Thus, there exists a single resolution for your screen! The 15 inches are at 1024x768 and 17 and 19 inches are mostly in 1280x1024 . So if you use pre - defined resolution of your screen , the image will be blurred. But many games or software that require further resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024 ( video playback , console emulators , etc. .) . You can still use lower resolutions but the display quality will suffer , for example with a strange effect of anti-aliasing . Having to use the defined resolution of LCD monitors is a handicap , especially on the Amiga , which uses many virtual screens of different resolutions.
