    Frequency Over range error message

    Hello , I have a Viewsonic monitor , when i start my computer , there isn no response from the monitor and shortly I get a FREQUENCY OVER RANGE message on the screen...and then nothing happen Can you tell me what is these Frequency over range error message , and how can i solve it , please help me thanks in advance

    That means your monitor is not seeing the signal from your video card or either you have chosen a resolution or a refresh rate which exceeds your monitor's capabilties.Select a lower refresh rate, and/or set back to the defaults.Try booting into Safe Mode by tapping F8 at boot

    If you can boot into Safe Mode you will need to change the resolution/refresh rate. Frequency over range error message looks like a monitor message. remove the video drivers and then reboot...reinstall them in Normal Mode, which should now be in a basic VGA mode.

    It very well could be a heat issue also , After the desktop loads, rightclick on the desktop choose properties to get to display properties, then Settings>Advanced>Monitor. If present, check the check box that says Hide modes that this monitor can't display, then choose the smallest setting usually 60Hz. if this does not solve your problem then uninstalling drivers and rebooting can apparently fixed it
