SS, FF and a lag simultaneously

Hi all,

please can U advice how to set SS with a lag and FF simultanously in MS Project?

I have 3 tasks: A, B, C

Task B starts N days before A and ends the day C ends.

Sample:
Task A = development
Task B = development environment preparation & support
Task C = UAT (user acceptance tests)

Task B needs to start with environment preparation at least 30 days before development will start (Task A SS-30d) and to finish together with UAT (Task C FF).

I found an existing discussion ===> SS and FF simultaneously with a solution described here ===>

Please does exist an elegant solution for this?

Hello Dag,

The Hammock tasks cannot have lead or lag but you could create milestones which have the start date of Task A. Then link B to the milestone with the lead.

Hi Julie,

thank you very much. I'm trying to avoid creating milestones for these tasks even I believe it would be the most transparent way.

Other option I figured out is to create Task B with following Task information:

end date = link to Task C End Date (UAT end date)
predecessor = Task A SS - N days (N days before Development start date)
