I have installed Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 on my computer. well I was not able to backup by making use of Time Machine when I connected through warless network. I am not able to resolve the issue by any mean. If you know anything about the same and let me know as early as possible. Thanks a lot in advance.

After going through the problem of yours I am suggesting below mentioned steps which you can try.
    • You have to click on Go and click on connect to server.
    • Now enter AFP://ipaddress on address bar.
    • After that connect as a guest to Time Machine Share.
    • Finally click on System preferences and choose the appropriate hard drive on Time Machine.
    • Once you have done with the above mentioned steps you will be able to backup without having any issue.

Re: WD Book Live Unable to use Time machine Wirelessly

According to me it seems to impossible to do time machine backup wirelessely. As backup process supposed to be stalling and crawling after 10 minutes. Many times it could stop automatically without any error message. If you do the same with wired network then process is getting completing without having any issue. if you have not used Mac for a long period of time then Time Machine supposed to verify the back before it would proceed with current back up. In backup is being happening of large data then Time Machine back up would definitely die.

Well I do agree with the points which you have stated over here. Time Machine is supposed to be quite buggy as far as My Book Live period is concerned. When I got installed Lion it took all the time to backup hence I removed the old backup. I put the backup on other drive and started with fresh drive itself. MBL supposed to working fine with the wireless network by making use of Time Machine around a week. In case you had stopped the backup process and rebooted the system then it supposed to backup within 5 minutes. Hence I have suspended to make use of Time Machine rather than started to make use of Ethernet cable. However there is no sense of having MBL after using Ethernet cable.

Well I am suspecting that there is an issue with the firmware of MBL itself. So what I am saying that you should wait till WD releases the latest version of Firmware and install the same on your device.
