How to set AFP and File Permissions while using WD Digital My Book Live on Mac OS X?

I have set up My Book Live 2TB with couple of users. Both of them are having private shares and also allowing read/ write as well. When one user is copying some of the files through AFP then other user would share. Other use will be able to see Files when he supposed to share and he will not be able to access due to lack of permission. The first users will be able to access the file only. In case the second user is going to access the files through SMB then it would work without having any issue. Let me know if you are aware of any work around for the same. thanks a lot in advance.

Looking at the situation you do you have created private shares? Do you have created the user and checked the box for ‘create private share for this user’? Let me know as early as possible .

If you are having ssh set up then you should run below mentioned command on shares and see what result you are supposed to get.
    Code:
    -ls -l /DataVolume/shares/NAME_OF_YOUR_SHARE
Alos you should create a new user and you should give an access to the private share and connected your device through the new user account and simply put the files into the user account which you are having.
You might need to check the permission setup for the different kind of share to confirm that every single share should not have different permission set.

After going through the problem of yours I wanted to tell you that Mac would need execute permissions which would read shares on the device. hence there should permission set. The device which you are using a linux box and you will be able to make use of SSH and change the permission manually. You can make enable SSH through the web interface and it would point towards to the browser to view the ssh page. I have noticed that above mentioned did not seems to be happening on Windows based machine. So I am suspecting that there is a big issue with Mac OS X itself.
