Dual processor E5530 with 24 or 48 GB DDR3 ECC RAM for HP Z600 Workstation

Hello friends, I wanted to have some suggestion about the HP Z600 Workstation, I am bit confuse with the different specifications which are been shown about it. So what should I have for me, 24 or 48 GB DDR3 ECC RAM for the system. Whereas I have searched about it and founded that it was saying that it will come with 48 GB it will be registered / RDIMM and 2 CPU's and where on some other site say about 24GB unbuffered DDR3 which will be having the dual CPU. So can you please help me that which is the best for me? Thank you.

Whatever information which you have got it is correct, such that 48 GB will be registered and the 24 GB with the unbuffered, so I think that there is a very good possibility for the registered RAM, if you are not having that then Z600 mobo will be bad or incompatible, even you can check the following link which is having the latest specification which might be helpful for you.

I will be using the memory which is been suggested by the Kingston, which is the Kingston Technology 8GB as per the recommendation. I need to check for the error about it before going for it. If it is bad then it will be the first time that I will be having the bad recommendation from Kingston. So let’s see what it has to say.

I would say that it totally depend on the revision of the Z600 motherboard, where I am knowing that the earlier Motherboard was having the 55XX series which was named as Nehalem processors which was not at all supporting the Registered memory and next generation of the Z600 motherboard (i.e. 2nd generation) which are having the Westmere processors (it was the 56XX series) do support the Registered Memory, so you need to check with the present motherboard of yours.

I would also say that you should go for the 48 GB registered memory; it might be supported with the motherboard of the Z600, if you trying it you can contact the support team they might help you with it, as they might be knowing much about it.
