Can I use Image HP T5740 with HPDM / Altiris

Hello friends, I am having something around 300 HP T5740 clients which are been setup by me. I was thinking to use it with the Altiris Deployment Solution (6.8), as it has arrived with the free client license. So does anyone has tried it with the additional altiris client licenses or has moved to using HPDM client imaging? I have not work with HPDM. So can you please tell me something about it? Thank you.

I would suggest that you better go for the LANDesk, which is much better product in comparison with the Altiris, I have used it and was not at all happy with it, so better going for that you go for LANDesk product.

I will be tried to look at the LANDesk product. But I wanted to use the Altiris for all my HP T5720s if it is possible to happen, if it is then it should not cause the upheaval of completely moving to a new product. I also not wanted to start licensing a completely new product, where as I am already having the majority of the thin clients licensed for imaging with a product, if it is making sense then only.

I am using the Altiris 6.9 in conjunction with HPDM for all of my Thin Clients; right now I am in process of migrating all Thin Clients to HPDM. I wanted to know that thin-clients which you are having are a part of a domain environment or not? If they are part of it then run into the same bug which I have tried it. When I was trying to image T5740's then the process would come to the end. So I have took the machines off the domain then cloned it with image and then deployed that image, then it started working as it should work. If you try to contact the support then you will be not get anything from there. Now I am planning to going off-domain with our TC's with the help of the HPDM exclusively which will be the best thing for management/deployment-wise for a couple of reasons.

Well all the thin clients and altiris deployment server are been part of the domain, where some of Altiris image process with present T5720 thin clients which is tell them to join the domain which ideally I have to continue to do. I wanted to how be your experience with HPDM, is this possible or not? I think that the HPDM server of yours will be off the domain and it will be used as workgroup when required to image the thin clients? Even also wanted to know that it is fine if run Altiris server and HPDM server on the same domain? altiris clients and HPDM clients, both of management are been kept separate without any conflict? So please tell me.

If you are trying to do it then it will be not a problem for you, but one thing which I am not sure which was the latest image that HP shipped it with Altiris client. So need to check about it.
