Managing more than one Harmony Remote

I have running with only one Harmony Remote and one of my cousin is going somewhere for a long time and he gave me his own same model Harmony remote and now, I decide to use both from different room. Both of the harmony remote are 688 and for a different room in my house. Is there a method through which I can handle and configure the settings for Remote #2 running with the same login account which I use to work for Remote #1? Or do I have to create a unique account to handle remote #2?

Actually, With the same settings , I am also running with one harmony remote that is placed in my living room and another one harmony 890 (w/ wireless extender) is placed in my bedroom. What I did was use very same usernames and unique passwords for the prior user. for example, My One is configured as UserName and another one means 890 is configured with the UserNameBR

I have configured this in the way through which I can only identify and manage.; In the username specification, the BR suggesting bedroom , through this method if you keep the login information in the software, changing between them is simple..

I wound up configuring up a separate account. BUT,it would be a well enhancement (one user account and capable to manage multiple devices) for the logitech development team. As according to your suggestion.

You are right, you can switch from one to another account and that would also be a feasible activity to manage the device but what would be happened in case more than ten device would be available to manage. Then we have to create more than 10 accounts and that would be much complex to switch from one to another. I need only 1 account and that should be capable to keep the record of more than ten device and should be managed through the same account.

So, if you are running with more than one 890Pro remotes which are being configured to manage the same equipment, they can be associated to the same account. Otherwise, the only method to control more than one remotes with one login account is a dealer account but I am not sure about the proper implementation of this and how you move about getting one of them..

For further activity, you can go for the manuals for the creation or you can take the help from the software section where you use to create this type of account ..

Re: Managing more than one Harmony Remote

I have to make one more user account to control another harmony remote ? It looks stupid enough that I have to rely on remote services on Logitech's site to control my remote at all. It also looks even more non- sense activity that I have to make another user account to control upon the second remote. Why do I require an account at all ? Actually, what service the logitech is remotely providing you that I couldn't perform without the remote access? Anymore comments on this topic would be appreciated and I will be thankful to you all to know something new in the same way !!!

I am running with six Harmony remotes and for those I have created 14 Accounts to manage them . You can continue in the way with all of the accounts how much you wanted to create , I had Logitech 6 of the accounts so that in this scenario of a programming issue . I always use a backup and part from these are being used for test accounts which I am using for helping to other users on this forum. There is no such cost to create activate and open an account . I also use the same password for my entire accounts..

Re: Managing more than one Harmony Remote

I have just purchased a Harmony 890 and according to me most of my home theater configuration has been committed. However, I require to reload Windows that will remove the software. I wanted to ask that do you know any method through which I can copy the remote configurations file(s) or backup the software to another destination or can the software load the remote data?

    Thanks in advance.

Actually , Your remote configurations are stored online by Logitech, not on your computer system and you can't do anything from that location. After reinstalling Windows, you are able to either reinstall the Logitech software from disk or you have to download that from Logitech official web site and then just re-install this . Once, it would be reinstalled them move to your account online and your configurations will still be there.
