Cannot copy DVD from Sony DVD RW AW-G170A Rom

I am having the computer system which has the Windows Vista Operating System installed in it. This computer has the Sony DVD RW AW-G170A Rom installed in this system. But there is some problem related to this Sony DVD RW AW-G170A Rom. I am not able to copy the DVDs from this DVD rom. I am having the some softwares installation disc and i want to make the bootable disc of that softwares. So i am making the image file of this DVDs. but i am not able to copy the DVD from Sony DVD RW AW-G170A Rom.What should i do for fixing this problem?
