Can you play dvd-r on a computer

i am having problem while reading some dvd can any one tell me can i play dvd-r on a computer is there support available for such disk ? or any other problem please help me

All current dvd rom supports dvd-r so you need not to worry about support another thing can be problem in disk so check that dvd is in good condition that is without scratch , dust also try to clean it .

The problem can be in the hardware itself so check that other disks are working properly there is also mismatch in drivers also or in DVD decoders so try to repair that or reinstall that.
