    Computer Power Consumption and Saving

    hi i am mostly using computer for playing games. daily i am playing at night my mom always telling me about the power consumption of pc but i think pc require very less power to work is this true. please reply me.thank you

    Desktop Computer 60-250 watts
    On screen saver 60-250 watts (no difference)
    Sleep / standby 1 -6 watts
    Laptop 15-45 watts
    Monitors Typical 17"
    CRT 80 watts
    Typical 17" LCD 35 watts
    Apple MS 17" CRT, 63 watts
    Apple MS 17" CRT,mostly black 54 watts
    Sleeping monitor (dark screen) 0-15 watts
    Monitor turned off at switch 0-10 watts

    Apple iMac G5 w/built in 20" LCD screen

    Doing nothing 97 watts
    Monitor dimmed 84 watts
    Monitor sleep 62 watts
    Copying files 110 watts
    Watching a DVD 110 watts
    Opening a bunch of pictures 120 watts
    Computer sleep 3.5 watts

    and for gaming obliviously its going to more than any process.

    I have 19" Intex TFT monitor
    Motherboard D945GCNL, CeleronD 347 processor (max tdp = 83 watt)

    I have a I5 -750 CPU + gigabyte P55-us3l
    2x 2gb 1600Msz ram
    ATI HD5570 card


    my total power consumption is


    around 150 to215 W.

    I download large files from internet .So my computer is on for long hours .

    can I reduce my power consumption when I am downloading files.
