How SDA and DDA works in Java Card

The smart card - in fact, a credit card with a chip - has thirty years. But today , the emphasis on security leads companies and governments to look with new eyes at some old ideas. Smart cards are an attractive alternative to the weak link of authentication systems : passwords . The industry is hungry for technology replacing passwords . Via an embedded cryptographic processor , smart cards provide a highly secure authentication mechanism and very easy to use. I want to know that how SDA and DDA works in Java Card ?

The resource manager model is used because the smart card is a shared resource and multiple applications may try to contact the card at any time . Communication with the card must be serialized. Therefore, a simplified model of lock , so database is used by the resource manager. In the PC / SC, Maintaining the security of a smart card reader given (also known as Interface or DFI ) is called maintenance of the transaction. In this context, the term " transaction " , however, lends to confusion.

Another description of the PC / SC is in the documentation of the platform SDK and concerns SCard Establish Context , SCard Begin Transaction , and other functions Win SCard . A host application uses these routines to establish a connection to the Resource Manager , obtain an exclusive lock on a smart card reader , send a sequence of commands to the card and unlock.

The use of switched network for the last link to the desktop units clearly complicates the task for PC users to malicious or nosy seeking a port on the network of unauthorized information. The switches in effect sending any packets that appropriate output port , the curious connected to another port will not receive any unauthorized information . If the server and the cabin wiring systems are safe , the last section and switched desktop unit plugged directly into the wall outlet , it is virtually impossible to intercept communications between the server and the desktop unit .

You need to use third robber open systems . NET , in turn , can be read as a kind of " return " Microsoft in the field of smart card , after the failure of Windows rather bitter for Smart Card sanctioned by the cessation of developments by the Redmond giant ( but with the same source code by Sagem and the American Smart Card Integrators Inc. ) . Originally developed by the young California company Hive -Minded ,. NET for Smart Card , called Nectar, is indeed an operating system derived from the technologie.NET initiated by Microsoft , specifically tailored to smart cards . The OS offers a number of key benefits compared to JavaCard.

The AC or stuck is that if your code is available on the net, you lose points in terms of security since it is easier for a cracker to climb a nasty attack on your card. It is even likely prohibitive. However , you 'll probably win a few points in terms of validation , since your card is probably more reliable.JavaCard is an implementation of Java for smart card . This is something totally stupid , it is to run a midlet on a 8-bit micro controller with between 500 and 5000 bytes of RAM . Knowing that consume much RAM jvm.
