Cowon, just announced three new upcoming products which will be press released during IFA 2008 at Berlin.Cowon has been facing a tough season without any new products launched, compared with other competitors like Samsung and iriver in the Korean domestic markets and Apple and Creative in the international markets.

Cowon has introduced three new products in each category: The S9 as an MPEG-4 player, the O2 as a PMP, and the L3 for car navigation.

The S9 as an MPEG-4 player, will available for the overseas markets.



Cowon's new S9 Curve. This 3.3-inch media player features an AMOLED capacitive touch panel display that spreads 16 million colors across 480 x 272 pixels. Inside you'll find a 500MHz dual-core CPU, T-DMB digital television tuner, Bluetooth, FM radio, TV-out, and G-Sensor accelerometer.

Cowon's upcoming O2 PMP is tipped to succeed the A3, featuring the following specifications :-

• 4.3" LCD display
• DMB-T tuner support
• Electronic dictionary
• Up to 32GB flash memory
• SD/SDHC memory card slot
• 18 hours playback time for audio
• 8 hours playback time for video
• Supports wide range of video formats
• Built-in speakers
• TV Out

No idea on pricing, but it would be interesting to see just more and more devices being released these days that are more than able to challenge the iPod's dominance in the PMP market.

Cowon has upped the PMP market ante with the L3, a sleek-looking device that comes with the following to tease your senses :-

• 7" touch screen display
• 800 x 480 resolution
• Tactile button system
• SiRF Star III GPS chipset
• FM transmitter
• Speaker
• Remote control

This will be another flash-based memory device, although it has not been revealed just how much storage space the L3 has. This looks really sweet, but hopefully the battery life is something that will last considering the large screen and plethora of functions.
