can not ping vista PLEASE HELP

I have installed a new Vista machine in our network and it has a fixed ip address. I have turned off the firewall as well as the defender. In this computer McAfee is installed but I have not installed the McAfee firewall. We normally use McAfee on all of out machines and dont have any problems on any other machine. But I am not able to ping the machine and am unable to find it on network. Can anyone help?

Have you tried to enable the Network detection in the network centre and also try to set this network to work or pruvate and not public, which will help you out.

You can try to do a test, you should try to disable the McAfee or other security software like and OneCard and then check whether you are able to pin it by the IP or not?
