SMTP Send mails size limit in Windows Mail

I am not able to send attachments in my emails. I am having some files which are in 20MB size minimum. There are some drawing images that I have to send urgently. I am trying to attach the image in mail. I am zipping them and then sending it. At the time of attachment it went fine till 15MB and then it stops. The upload does not finish at all. There is a error saying that the server connection is terminated. What should I do to fix the issue. Thanks.

This is because of size limit on your server. This is not the fault of mail client. You need to contact the mail service provider. If it is yahoo or gmail, then I think you cannot do anything in that. There is a restriction of attachment size to be sent through a email. There is another way you can sent the mails. Just upload the files in a locked zip folder on any file sharing website and send the link. Winrar provides you option to password protect the archive. You can lock it and sent it. In this way your file will not be misused. You can share the password with receiver.

    Hi!

Much has been said already anyway. But I want to add a bit more. Attachements are usually sent MIME Base 64 encoded, which makes them on average 37% larger than the file itself. Your 15 MB file becomes, 20.5 MB all of a sudden. Over the limit as it was already pointed out. As a courtesy I never send large attachments, unless requested explicitly. I'll try to keep email size well below 100 KB. Think about hosting your large files, which you have to share frequently, on a Web server, but preferably on a FTP server. All you need to do than is to send a link via email. I felt like answering this one, because I just had an issue with a friend who wanted to send me a 1.5 MB attachment. She's on a slow dial up connection and her outgoing mail server would time-out during the transmission. Of course, he said, "... Your email is not working!" That drove me mad, you know.
