No Linux driver for Lenovo G460?

I was just thinking about that which I wish to switch the driver to Ubuntu 10.04, so this only which support driver for the longer time in system, right now I not able to find any of the drivers for it, and the most important thing is it doesn’t support or detect any wireless adapter at all. And it enables to make any connection to the internet. So there is going to be in Linux driver for G460 available? Even the Windows driver is not available right now.

So I put together a few download Ubuntu 10.04 as an ISO image from the site then I presently thought that if we make a CD to burn it. After then I immediately reboot your PC and choose the option in the ubuntu menu and run the ubuntu not want to make any change on it, it is ask when your computer will restart it directly ask for the boot then after unbuntu will be run from the CD itself, so you obtain to the desktop and just go to system administration, hardware drivers. ubuntu will scan and show you some option for the drivers.

Yes, me too. It's the only problem with this computer, and that's truly annoying... I've searched in many communities and forum in the Internet, and have originate some ways to solve this difficulty... but no one of them work if you find a working solution, could you please write about it here? There is nothing that can't be solved by the use of high explosive.

I've solve the difficulty. To allow normal jack switch, you require to setup specific drivers for audio chip. For Linux, if there is a debt package, which compiles and installs required kernel modules for switch. The package can be downloaded here: It worked on my G460 under Ubuntu 10.04 with kernel 2.6.32-24-generic.There is not anything that can't be solved by the use of high explosives.

I am use Mandriva 2010.1 in G460 currently; the whole thing seems to working well, including sound system. For wifi connection, the simplest way should be use of ndis wrapper with Windows XP driver.
