How to block original pdf document form getting copy/paste

I am running a classes which teaches eLearning online but then now they students have requested to concert the online eLearning courses in to a PDF but then the thing that is worrying me is copyright I mean that I cannot compromise it because it can pr copied by others as well. So I just wanted to know that is there a way by which I can protect the PDF document. I know that we cannot stop it completely but then I think that there might be a reason to control it. Any suggestion regarding the same will be appreciated.

As far as I know a Digitial Rights Management will be the one that you need. I mean that it can provide you some serious lock down in order to block your document form getting copy/paste but then I will like to inform you that it will cost you a good amount. The other option is the Adobe Acrobat Reader I mean that using this you can apply document security attributes but then I don’t think that it will provide you a strong "lock down" just check them both and see if it is helping you out or you are finding it to be the better choice.

I think that using the Adobe Acrobat you can destine the documents to 'generic' people and you don’t even need any kind of IT skill for it but then it will not give you a good protection but then I don’t think that it will be easy to crack it out I mean that this will be the job of experts to crack it and use it but then you will be able to control the print abilities and copy/paste to a good extent but there are chances where they can remove the protection by re-printing the PDF document with the help of a PDF printer and I think that you can say that it is a drawback of it.

I have been looking for the same and I have found that if we are having a sufficient value of information then the most secure solution is digital security solution it actually involves the provider hosting method here you can secure your site access with a password which will be linked to the file that you want. I have personally planning to go for BookGuardPro about which I have found is that it includes a monthly subscription in order to protect the PDF files that are online. You will get a no of other application as well but then I have found this one to be the better but then if you find something that you think will be better than BookGuardPro do let me know. I will like to share that their server gives a password for the file that you want and you also get options for allowing or denying printing and copying as well. I have also found that this application are quite reasonable as well and in order use this application you will have to install Windows 7 in Bootcamp on the Mac.

I have been using the 'Nova PDF Professional' software from a long time you just have to download and then install it and then you just have to follow the below steps:
    • After installing it just Open the document that you are willing to convert in to PDF and protect it as well and after that just open the print dialog box (CTRL + P) and then select novaPDF Pro in the printer section.
    • Then just Click on the Properties and then you will get a 'novaPDF Pro Properties' dialog box.
    • Now in the dialog box just click on the'security' tab and select the option of encryption form low level to High Level Encryption and then enter the password and you can also give a sign in the checklist and then you can modify document content.

Just check it out and see if you find it usable for you.

I think that even using the above you will not be able to protect it completely but then even I think that only experts or people who like to mess with kind of copy and paste thing will be able to crack it down but it won’t be possible for the normal students. I will like to share that previously I had created secure and password protected PDF document but then just to check it out I had told my friend to check it out and unfortunately he was able to remove the security barriers and converted the pdf in to normal doc using the PDF editor but then he is form the it field and had good idea about all this. Even I have been searching for a perfect solution to secure PDF documents but I have not found yet.

I have been using BookGuard Pro and I will like to share some more details about it first of all as it is specified above it is having a monthly subscription method and using the BookGuard Pro one can convert the document to just read only types which can be then put online for the other users and they will be accessible to the content after they enter the password that they will be issued and their ip address will be recorder as well so you don’t have to worry if the user distribute the password to others as well because the ip will be unique. I think that this will be the best one.

I did not get your point properly I mean that if I will try to change my own ip address and then try to access the protected content then will I be allowed to view the content or even I will be not allowed to view the content as you have specified above that it will block the other ip address as the original ip address is recorded. Hope you are getting my point.

Yes I got your point but then I will like to on form you that the things will be not so as of you have described I mean that if they find someone accessing the protected content with the very different file then they will not allow it to access the file and they will consider it as a unauthorized distribution but then if you just change the last few digit and which is called as dynamic IP address then they will allow it but further they will also have to go through some questions as well so it won’t be that easy to fool around with it.

Even I am running a online classes and I am using the BookGuard Pro and I will say that it will be the best. I have been using the same from 6 months and I think that I have stopped the chances of the copy and paste of my original documents from the site to almost 90 percent because I have hardly found any indications of copy and paste of content from the other competitors.
