    PDF viewer for Mac OS9

I have a desktop at my home. And I have Mac OS 9 operating system running on my PC. I got the Acrobat 4.0 with my OS 9.1 disk. My problem is that I cannot get access to the PDF file on my computer even I already install Acrobat on the system. That’s why I have to open files I download through “Open” dialog in Acrobat. I have another problem that I cannot save the files by the access of Acrobat.

There are many reasons to found this type of errors. Sometimes the PDF files are damaged due to some reasons so first clarify that the file you wanted to access is not damaged. And also check whether the Acrobat installation is damages or not. Sometimes the PDF file was created using non-adobe application. So you can update Acrobat or repair it also. I Hope this will work.

As you mentioned you have Acrobat 4.0. So you need to know that Acrobat reader or any software on your Operating system needs some files to have resource information if you want to access that file using double click. So the PDF file that does not have this resource information then it need to be opened directly by open dialog box or you can drag the specified file directly on the application icon.

First you should mentioned that where you want to open these PDF files(In browser or outside the browser). If you want to access the file outside the browser then you can try this one. Disable the “View in browser” or “Web browser integration” feature in your Adobe Acrobat viewer (for plug-in and standard version). In this way you can enforce the system to display PDF outside the browser. I think this will fix your problem.

There may be a problem in OS also while installation. Some files of OS may get corrupted or missing some files. So I think you can try to repair your Operating system files or reinstall the operating system on your computer. This will give you maximum chance to solve your problem. I hope this will work. First back your important files.

You mentioned that you got the Acrobat software in your OS CD. I think there is problem in your CD’s software. So please check out the software in your CD. And try to use Acrobat software apart from that CD. Because sometime some files are missing in software and that creates these kind of problem so try to download new Acrobat software and install it on your PC. I hope this will work.
