How to add tags to PDF and txt files

I made the jump from XP to Windows 7. In XP I had the opportunity to edit any file metadata and key words occur in a PDF file. Windows 7 has done away with "keywords" and has been a "cloud." I like this system better, but what I find terribly frustrating is that there are many types of files that I cannot add tags.
    1. Is there any way to add "tags" in PDF (in a form that works with the Windows 7 Search labeling system)?
    2. If not, is there any solution (3 Part downloads - working in the metadata system Windows 7 labeling)?
    3. If not, is this something that will be corrected in Windows in the future.
    4. What is the cause for the types of files for example: PDF, TXT, and MP3 not have "tags" ability?

Install PDF Shell Tools: With the tank installed PDF tools can also edit the metadata of PDF in the browser! My current understanding is this: What is lacking to show / edit PDF metadata in your browser to see the details and the bottom panel is a "controller of the property" to the PDF file format. He (and I guess other people with similar troubles in this area) had a PDF IFilter setup allowing show PDF metadata in a search effect. I think the metadata is displayed when you select "sort by: name, for example," is also taken from the index, which is why it works without the controller of the property. Microsoft makes me a pity to waste time on such things instead of providing support for the widely used document format. Look at the apple; they had no problem providing full support in your operating system to PDF.

Here I wish to add something in this case. Tags are handled by third party shell extensions. The operating system itself does not provide the functionality of labels. So if you want to TXT and MP3 files for the labels, you have to set the first-labeling mechanism. Although it would be nice if the OS did natively. Is not that what the old file system, WinFS is supposed to do, but never saw the light of day?

The truth would have to click on almost any file (including PDF, TXT, etc.) and then "short" I could write a keyword (e.g. "blue" or "wedding"). Then afterward, while I required finding any file I have the keywords "blue" I could write to the Windows search "keyword: blue", after that any file that the keywords "blue" rise. I imagine that the labels are the new keywords. It saddens me that the old XP seems to have more options then the new Windows 7 here. I sure hope that is not the case.

I prepared surveillance: the metadata, as it is not amassed in the file itself, at the top of the NTFS file system someplace (do not know how it works at a bottomless level). For instance, I saved a document TXT empty (0 bytes) and loaded with metadata (with 0 bytes). Because Windows XP is running on a virtual PC, I opened the mapped network drive from the main PC (the unity of the team Real Madrid C) and drag the text file right on it. Then, even in XP, click the file and properties were not observed. In Windows 7 desktop, the file had traces of my special metadata.

What was really frustrating is that Windows 7 beta was able to show PDF properties (metadata), but not the official version! I swear, I was very happy to see him, but so frustrated that the official version did not. They must have decided to withdraw it for competitive purposes and strategic. Windows 7 is a kind of showing these properties, only a completely fanciful, therefore, so difficult to grasp. Not sure if Beta was less capricious (i.e., show that even in libraries where organized by folder, or in a normal view, not the collection) or I was lucky enough to see the files in one of those random shapes I can. In any case, do not know if something is the strategy of intentional or an error.
