Looking for program for anonymous browsing

Hello all,
I am looking for a program that masks IP and allows me for anonymous browsing.

No I am not planning to do anything illegal but I just want privacy and safety of mind.
I would prefer if said program was a freeware, I have been looking for the past few hours with no success.

UPDATE:
So far I have eventually found hijack defender from softpedia and ultrasurf from fiberdownload.
Neither seem to suit me 100% though, I would like something simple yet effective.
So I am still searching...
