Improper Aspect Ratio with Windows DVD Maker

I am making use of the Windows 7 DVD Maker tool but is showing me some major problems. I am having an AVI which is widescreen formatted and I want to burn it on a DVD. If I import the video then it does not shows me any problem and the burn process also get completed without any problem. If I see the Menu then also it demonstrates video properly but the movie fraction is clutched into 4:3 ratios and that is having black areas on its border. It appears that Windows DVD Maker don’t make out the aspect ratio for the AVI file imported. even though the AVI file get loaded in Media Player within the widescreen format. I can see that it is listing 4:3 aspect ratios used for the same file. I have already exhausted several DVDs to burn it but all comes up with the same result. Please help me to solve the problem.

Windows DVD Maker menus will be displayed at 16:9 aspect ratio by default. As a result, a few of the menu may not come into view if displayed on a normal TV which is having a 4:3 aspect ratio. If you are facing problems while playing the videos previously burnt in 16:9 aspect ratio then the trouble might most likely be attributed to the truth that .AVI was the source file format. You may have to change the .AVI file in .WMV format and after that burn the similar in 16:9 aspect ratios with Windows DVD Maker.

If you want to change the .AVI file into .WMV format then my recommendation to you is to use Windows Live Movie Maker. Windows Live Movie Maker is not preloaded with Windows 7. You can download the Windows Live Movie Maker from here. This will let you to the page from where you will be able to download the Windows Live Movie Maker from there. I hope that this will help you to do what you need to do.

I think that you have to download the Windows Live Movie Maker. I am not sure that aspect ratio issue will be solved with this. I using this and found that it is the best to maintain the aspect ratio. So download the Windows Live Movie Maker and use it. This is from Microsoft and there are more chances that it will solve the problem for you. I hope that this will help you.

There may be problem with the driver for the DVD writer that you have installed. To confirm that, you should uninstall the driver that your computer uses currently and then reboot your system. If it installs it automatically then it is fine but if that does not install then you can install that manually. Or the other best way is to download and install the latest driver from internet and install it on your computer. This will definitely solve the issue if that is related to the driver.
