upgraded to itunes 10 and now it won't open

I just install windows 7 64 bit on my system that was previously running vista. I have upgraded my iTunes 9.2 to iTunes 10 and when I double click on it, it will not open.I check it in Task manager and the process is running but there is no program. I uninstall itunes and apple folders. Then I tried a clean installation but even this time also it won't open. It does not even give any error message or failyres. I thought that some other program was stopping iTunes so I run my computer in safe mode and then open iTunes it open perfectly. But I need to run it in normal mode.So I unistall it again and installed iTunes 9.2 and it works fine. This is becoming a pain to me as I am stuck to iTunes version 9.2.

1)Can you launch your QuickTime player launch or you get any error message when trying to launch it?
    2) I would suggest you to try disabling BonJour service.
Go to start menu and right click on computer and select manage or Right click on Computer icon on desktop and select manage.Click on Services and applications to expand and open services. Right click on BonJour services and select Properties. From general tab, Disable the start-up type. Restart your computer and now try to launch iTunes. Hope that this time your iTunes is opened.

You can follow these procedure to troubleshoot the iTunes. You need to perform clean boot to see which program is conflicting with iTunes and prevents it from launching:
    1. Go to start menu and type msconfig in search box and press enter. If you are prompted to enter administrator password, type the password for confirmation and click continue.
2.Under General Tab select Selective Startup.
3.Click to clear Load Startup iTunes check box under Selective startup.
4.Select Service Tab, Check Hide all Microsoft Services and then Click on Disable all,
    5. Click OK.
    6.Restart computer
7.You are suppose to uninstall and reinstall the program causing this problem.
    8. After finishing troubleshooting for this to start your computer normal, Click on start and type msconfig.exe and press enter.
9.On general Tab select the Normal startup option and click OK.
    10. If you are prompted to restart your system then Click restart.

Re: upgraded to itunes 10 and now it won't open

After your suggestion I try to launch Quicktime and it is working fine. I disabled bonjour and iTunes 10 start but now how will I connect to my iPod? I only use my iPod to connect.I restarted iTunes and nothing happened, I stopped Bonjour services and iTunes get started. I restart Bonjour and stop working. Every time I stop Bonjour iTunes starts. Any suggestion on this problem would be appreciated?

You first need to completely uninstall iTunes, Quicktime and soem other essential components. Use control panel to uninstall iTunes and related software and uninstall them in following manner:
    1.iTunes
    2.QuickTime
    3.Apple Software Update
    4.Apple Mobile Device Support
    5.Bonjour
    6.Apple Application Support
You may see some alert messages when you attempt to uninstall these applications in any different order. Then do a fresh install of iTunes 10 using the 64 bit version. when you start and do not see anything then go to services and disable Bonjour.

The reason why it is giving this error with mdnsresponder is that there might be some conflict between recent version and Bonjour service. Not sure whether this is a security function interfering with Bonjour service or may be some other cause. I have a latest report that says uninstalling and reinstalling the utility all utility, Bonjour and iTunes to coexist.
