    No Picture in VLC 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 on nVidia cards

    I installed vlc 1.1.0. My router is configured correctly for vlc to FC6 ( 1234 , 59382 , 59383 redirected to my IP address )For my testing I disabled the firewall ( / etc / init.d / iptables stop ) . For security we'll see , but I think there are problems of disabling the Firewall through the GUI. VLC starts but I get sound but no picture . The display console gives several messages :libdvbpsi error (PSI decoder ): TS discontinuity ( Received 8 Expected 0 ) for PID 1285. Same issue with VLC 1.1.1. Please help. Thanks in advance.

    If you have a fairly recent drivers that it may be that you do not have access to some functionality of your graphics card , such as the ability to have multiple desktop . Indeed strangely drivers or install the most recent no utility "NVIDIA nView Desktop Manager " in Control Panel. Forget or mistake, is still He commend that this is not cool. Luckily , with my habit ( good or bad) to search everywhere I found a way to solve this problem . To do this, go into the " preferences " VLC
    Preferences = > Input / Codecs => Others = codecs > FFmpeg
    Click on " Advanced Options " , and search field.

    You need to skip the loop filter for H.264 decoding " and replaces the " none "by " all " ( history of not making the "loop filter " and normally, you should stop having a problem of CPU. VLC goes to you and you change your options : Click on Settings and select Preferences. Expand Video and click on Output modules. Check Advanced options in the lower right corner. Set Video output module to either " DirectX " , " OpenGL "or "Windows GDI ".

    The famous media player VLC has been updated to version 1.1.3 . No news can be reported, the idea here is simply to correct some shortcomings proven. Team in charge of the project reported and solving problems related to how VLC handles FTP access and correction of some errors in the management of DVDs and podcasts . VLC 1.1.3 also sign the entry into force of new codecs. Since version 1.1.2 , VLC is able to leverage memory computing capabilities of graphics cards, both ATI as NVIDIA, to provide hardware accelerated high definition video. You need to use this.

    You need to re-Install or reinstall VLC also delete the directory preference. Launch VLC and open the preferences . Select advanced. Extending preferences videos / Output modules and click on DirectX . Uncheck the option "Use hardware YUV - > RGB conversions ". Click on Output modules and on the pull down list choose DirectX video output. Save preferences . restart VLC. This should correct the trouble. If this is not the case , resuivez the same procedure and try " DirectX 3D output ".

    I had just sometimes worry a bit like your own, and which only occurred with VLC - and also my instructors in the Avid editing interface. While at the same time, other players like MPC HC or MPlayer ( or WMP , but I never use it ! ) provided a color rendering correct them, It occurs only on the laptop. Each time, it was drivers " modded " inappropriate (at the time when Nvidia did not provide further updates on the official Forceware for laptops ). Drivers sometimes forced me to shift completely color calibration (gamma, contrast, brightness , smoothness, etc. . ) => these settings affect forced VLC and my monitors assembly. I paid the driver update in order to find the right (test / re - test / re -re -test , etc. You can also look towards the adjustments VLC Preferences / Video / Exit > test the different outputs of the menu.
