Burn process failed (Nero Multimedia 10)

    Hi Friends,
I have installed Nero multimedia in my computer last week. It is able to play the songs and video without any error. But now when I tried to burn a CD in it shows me error like “burn process failed at 48x/7200...” I was trying to burn an audio CD and loaded 16 mp3 songs in it. It was processing fine at start but when it reaches near to 100%( between 90 to 100), it stops burning and shows the error message.

I have not changed any of the setting while installation. After accepting terms and condition I just selected default setting. Can you tell me what may be the problem or what the right way to burn a CD?

Are you using a trial version or a registered one? If you are using a trial version and it’s your second installation on the same computer and there is no format between two installation then it will not allow you to burn CD after the trial period is over.

When you first install it in your computer then it will store a small file in your C: drive. This file helps nero to detect or to count the days from installation. If it exceeds the trial period then it will not allow you to burn your CD. If that is your case then you should order a full version of it.

There may be problem with your disk. Just check it out properly that it should not have any scratch on it. If it has any scratch then it will automatically stops burning process by giving some error message you told. Scratched CD may also harm your writers’ lens. Simply buy a new CD and try to burn it gain.

There are some points to be noted while burning any disk.

    1. First of all ensure that your disc is readable and it should be regardless of age, scratches or deterioration wth secure disc technology.
    2. Drag and drop files or import files to burn and copy CD’s, DVD’s and Blue-rays Discs or save disc image.
    3. To burn onto multiple discs just split oversized files.
    4. Add personal passwords and encryption to add extra security protection.
    5. Experience superior playback quality from your burned content
    6. Make flawless copies of your discs with reliable, uninterrupted burns

Are you using a disc which already contains some data? If you are using such disc then please check whether multisession is on or not. Multisession is nothing but the permission to the disc to make it writable further. If multisession is turned on then you can write further on that disc and if multisession is turned off then it will show you the apace but will not allow you to write it further.

So my suggestion to you is just check for the multisession, It might be causing problem while burning.

There may be problem with your DVD writer. Lens is the main and most delegate part of disc writer. It does the actual work in burning any disk. First try all the things suggested before and if then also it is showing the same problem then it is a hardware problem. There may be dust on writer’s lens, you can use lens cleaner which is easily available in the market. It’s a disc having tiny brushes on it which cleans your writer. You will find a complete instruction how to use that cleaner. I Hope that will solve your problem.

This problem may be because of virus attack on your system. One of my friends was also having the same problem as you told. He had formatted his C: drive completely and now his computer is running without any error. First you should scan your system completely with some updated antivirus and then check for the error. If it is still coming then format your C: drive. This is the best way.

Have you tried all the above solutions posted before? And still getting the same problem then I think that there is some problem with your setup file. Your setup may be corrupted that’s why it’s not burning the disk. You should download a fresh copy of it can install it on your computer. Then try to burn any CD. good luck
