    Microsoft Word 2007 autosave ?

I do not know if there is an auto save option in Microsoft Word. And if the option exists please let me know how to enable it here? Does it saves the work even though the work done is not saved manually? Is there a way to gain back the work done if it is not saved? Also I would like to know the difference between auto save and auto recovery?

Autosave is one of the feature in MS Word 2007. It automatically saves your documents(work) at certain intervals in case if the PC faces some problems in the middle of the work. Autosave can be enabled by following the steps below:
1.Click on the Microsoft Office Button.
    2.Click the Word Options button.
3.Click Save on the left pane.
4.Now for enabling the Autosave feature you just need to enable he checkbox. A particular time can be given so that MS Word can save your document(work).

Yes there is a difference between autosave and auto recovery.Auto recovery means if the computer crashes, the file can be recovered by losing only the last 't' minutes, where 't' is the time set by you.

While autosave is something different. Suppose you are working on a file for a whole day and you are not saving the file and you close the file and accidentally you click "no" under the "Do you want to save the changes to ____" then you lose the whole work of the day.

Re: Microsoft Word 2007 autosave ?

In Microsoft Word 2007 setting autosave is easier than in all the other downgraded versions of Microsoft Word.
Autosave in Microsoft Word 2007 can be enabled by following the steps below:

    • Click on the Microsoft Office Button.
    • Click the Word Options button.
    • Click Save on the left pane.
    • Now for enabling the Autosave feature you just need to enable he checkbox.

A particular time can be given so that MS Word can save your document. The only problem with MS Word 2007 is that it does not create a backup file as it was done in the earlier versions of MS Office.
