Print Screen Key no longer working in Windows 7

I am facing certain issue with Windows 7 print screen key. When I press that key it does not copy the screen. I try to paste the screen on Paint but nothing comes out. All other keys are working fine there. Is there some settings for this then how to fix that. The other thing is that if this does not work then kindly suggest me some nice screen capture software which must use less memory and give good images.

The original issue was whether there was a way to restore the screenshot function. There might be some issue with the keyboard. You might check out for the control button keys that used to copy the image was not working. Try a different keyboard for that. There is no specific settings for this. You can check in control panel for the layout of keyboard you are using.

This is normal there might be some issue with the keys. Clean your keyboard and then press the key. Check that your Ctrl key both of them are functioning fine. There is a lot easier solution. You can use Gadwin Print Screen, or even better Faston Setup Capture 4.5. These two software are free. Gadwin allows you to choose the portion of the screen you want to print and Fastone allow yourself the same thing but you can select your save from, send to web and print.

I looked in photoshop and there is a option avialable for that. The same key does not work on my keyboard works there. I have for now resolved issue with AcdSee also. Acdsee is a nice tool which provides a nice screen capture function and it is independent from the keyboard keys which make it sometime less flexible. I heard he was trying to disconnect the keyboard and reconnect the same which works most of the time.

Why don't you try Snipping Tool which is an extremely simple but important also. It allows you to take screenshots in the form of freeform, rectangle, window or full screen. After that you can annotate and share the images. You can run the tool from Start > All programs > Accessories SnippingTool. Or just type snipping tool in the sarch box. It is a inbuilt utility very flexible to use.

I am using FastStone Capture which is a quiet one step ahead of tradtional screen capturing. The software is capable of creating custom screenshots. It is very lightweight, easy to use and totally free. It is possible to capture the entire screen, a window, a specific area which makes this tool a quiet easy one. Each image captured then can be used to convert or you can keep the same in clipboard.

Try to check the keys might be not working properly. I am using Snagit for that. It is a nice tool for that. You can capture images, texts, videos, web pages and transform them into real tools of visual communication. The tool also allows you to capture one-click data displayed on your PC to develop through the SnagIt image editor and then share them easily in presentations, e-mails, instant messages, blogs, websites, etc.
