µTorrent can not write data to hdd

I have a iMac which is installed with Mac OS X 10.4 installed on it. I am using Vmware virtual machine to run Windows Xp on the iMac. I tried running uTorrent on the Macbook in Windows XP mode but the uTorrent is not able to write to HDD. It gives "Access has been denied" error constantly. Is utorrent and Vmware incompatible? Please share some information on this issue. Thanks in advance.

Yes lot of people are facing the same problem with uTorrent application and Vmware virtual machine application. The torrents to be downloaded get loaded in the uTorrent and then while downloading "Access is denied" error is faced. This issue has been reported to the bit torrent developers and I hope the solution is available really soon.

The Access is denied error is faced when the user does not permission to write on the hard drive. Hence check the user name which you are using to log in to the system. The user account must not having permissions to write to the hard drive and hence the uTorrent is not able to download any data as all the downloaded data has to be saved on the hard drive.

Thanks for replying to the post really fast. I checked all the permissions which are given to the account that I am using and found out that all the read/write permissions are allowed for that account. Hence I think user account is not the cause for the problem. So does anybody here have a solution for this problem?

Enable the write permissions for the uTorrent and then download the files. Utorrent is not able to create folders and subfolders on the hard drive and hence such problems are faced while downloading. You will have to enable the write permissions on the uTorrent or create folders for the uTorrent to download the files.
