iChat crashes when been executed

Hello. I have a Macbook Pro and I am using Mac OS X to it. The problem is that i have installed iChat application and it crashes when been executed. I do not know what could have caused the issue. Please do help me out so that it can be functioned well and work as needed. It will be helpful if you can sort the thing for me. Any help will be appreciated.
