    Divx - 5.1 AC3 to Spdif Problems

    Hi friends,

I am getting some issues while try to get my PC to output pure ac3 via my spdif which is from the ac3 encoded divx movies. I have installed the Dixv player on my computer system. I didn't get any problem while playing real DVDs and output with spdif. But getting problem while using Divx and AC3 with spdif. If anyone posses any solution to resolve this spdif issue, then please let me know that. I am waiting for your reply.

The spdif format allows to transfer digital audio data. The system devised by the companies Sony and Philips can be regarded as the consumer version of professional digital audio AES/EBU. The spdif also allows the transfer of digital audio data, that avoids the conversion analog / digital and vice versa. The standard spdif comes in different form.

I think you have configured wrong 'AC3 settings'. And because of that you are getting problem while using AC3 with S/PDIF. I suggest you to check the option known as 'Don't Equalise AC3' which from the S/PDIF setting. Then you will need to launch the BSPlayer in the way to open the AC3 Divx. Please try with this solution.

I think there might be some problem in the S/PDIF interface. This interface is used to transmit dense digital audio as defined by the standard IEC 61937. This mode is used to connect the output of a DVD player to the home theater receiver which supports Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound. This also allows for the combination of personal computer digital sound via optical or coax to Dolby or DTS receivers.

I am also getting identical issue with S/PDIF. I have installed and AC3 Divxs, and it doesn't create any issue. But the thing is that when choose the 'Intervideo Audio' which is from the filters setting of the S/PDIF the sound output get affected with it. That is I don't hear sound of sound track. I am totally frustrated because of this issue.

It sounds that there might some problem in your operating system. Have you tried to reinstall the operating system? if not then please try out it first. If you have not properly installed the OS, then it may cause Spdif Problems. You also need to configure the setting for this interface. Please try one of these solutions.

S/PDIF is used to pass on digital signals of a number of formats, the most ordinary being the 48 kHz model rate format and the 44.1 kHz format, used in CD audio. In order to prop up both systems, as well as others that might be desirable, the format has no defined data rate. Instead, the data is sent using biphase mark code, that allow the original word clock to be extracted from the signal itself.
