    avi to h.264

I have some videos that I have converted for my xbox which are in h.264 format, and I need to find a method to convert them to avi format for my PMP. I have ever unable to find out a good two steps fix or even any that are one step. I know there are methods to do it but that can consume more time approximately more than 3 hours with so many steps.

I have tried the program All to avi, But nothing happened and unsuccessful not even any video will output from that. I have tried staxrip without any fix to mux the audio at the end. I also tried Megui without any fix to mux the audio either. I desired to try and got a solution to convert such videos so that I would not have to keep the .vob file and create two copies when I rip the dvd.

Would you follow my suggestions and if you want to move for solution other than what you used earlier then I think you need to go for this way and according to me you need to go for the use of AutoGK. You might have to install the newest release of the FFDShow drivers to have it read the file correctly though.

    avi to h.264

    Hi everyone,

Nope, I don't think it would be compatible. I am not sure but I tried to do but nothing happened and that would not work, just for kicks I tried the same procedure again as soon after one attempt . I got your replies and got the latest ffdshow drivers and same thing that's what you said earlier.

The AutoGK that you have suggested to me in earlier post, has been outdated and would not open with any latest formats. It has not been updated since 2003. Do you have any more ideas about the same ?

    avi to h.264

    Hi cullen ,

I am also one of the user of the AutoGK and using for a long time, the AutoGK that I am using is combined with ffdshow, to convert h.264 AVIs to Xvid for a while, now. Also, the most latest version of AutoGK was released in starting of 2006. You need to be sure that you have made enable h.264 compatibility in ffdshow's VFW Configuration management section. However, if you are require to converting MP4 files, that's another story. AutoGK's developed more for DVD or AVI input.

The automkv is also one of the utility that is capable to do it. But before that you need to be sure that you have avisynth installed and click on the "Use Directshowsource" buttons to process. You can see the screen shot attached with the post .

I am wanting to convert h.264 videos which are in a .mp4 container. Because autogk will not open the file. I gonna try with the automk, I have tried super and I haven't been able to get the quality or the proper file identification that i need out of the converter. I figured out into winff and it doesn't allow the options that I want to set. I need to be able to resize the video and convert the audio to mp3 format.
