    Problem installing kmod-nvidia on fedora

    Hello,
I would install my graphics drivers for my nvidia card but they are just not installing properly. The problem occurs when installing kmod-nvidia (well, not at all since I can not)
    Here is what I get
    Code:
    yum install kmod-nvidia
    Additional modules loaded: refresh-packagekit
    Configuring the installation process
    No package nvidia available.
Any help on this is appreciated, thank is advance.

    Hello,
It is not unusual for the kmod not appear for a few days after the kernel is released. If you need you can use the alternative software for doing the same, that is what you get from the kmod you can achieve from the other software too. You can avoid all the problems with installing the kmod akmod. It automatically creates the kmod if they do not exist on your system.

    Hello,
Sorry, I misunderstood your question, but my comment still stands akmod its just a bit off topic. As I understand it, if I'm wrong about someone more knowledgeable will correct me, yum kmod only display that matches your kernel is installed. He will not try to install a kernel that you do not. When you update the kernel, it will draw in the corresponding kmod, whether, as a dependency.

Re: Problem installing kmod-nvidia on fedora

    Hello,
I always installed the akmods and never looked back. Just asking, when akmods build the kmod, yum sees when "yum update" right? if she wishes to download the kmod to new kernel? I've been running this instead when updating:
    Here is the command
    Code:
    yum update - exclude = kmod-nvidia *
Is this "correct"? Am I not the exclusion of those packages? The reason I do this because they broke metacity the first time I upgrade my system in F12.
