Re: Support for the new Euro currency symbol in Office

In Europe, a new currency called the Euro has been created. As of June 1998, the Euro exists only for commercial purposes, but not as legal tender. In recent years, parts and banknotes in euro will be used as legal tender in many European countries. As the U.S. dollar, British pound and Japanese yen, the euro has a distinct symbol. The euro symbol looks like the capital letter "C" crossed out with two horizontal lines.
Just a reply to say thank you for these links and posts I have a lot to read and learn now!

Re: Support for the new Euro currency symbol in Office

None of the programs listed at the beginning of this article includes the native support of the euro symbol. Moreover, none of the code pages and fonts supplied with Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 does support the euro symbol. However, it is possible to download code pages and fonts that allow you to use the euro symbol in these programs. Microsoft Windows 98 and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 include native support for the euro symbol. However, you must still download the new Tahoma font if you want to use the euro symbol in one of the programs.
    Blessings to you

If you want to use the euro symbol you must download and install a font Tahoma update. The file is stored on secure servers that prevent any unauthorized changes to the file. Save the program onto your hard drive. When you run Tahoma32.exe, new fonts Tahoma and Tahoma Bold are installed and you are then prompted to restart your computer. Tahoma32.exe installs the files listed in the table below :
    Font Tahoma.ttf Tahoma update
    Tahoma Bold Font Tahomabd.ttf update

To type the euro symbol, make sure you use a font that supports this symbol, then proceed as follows :
    1. Hold down the ALT key.
    2. Using the keypad, type 0128.
    3. Release the ALT key.

To print the euro symbol, your printer should be able to print text as graphics or print TrueType fonts as bitmap soft fonts. For more information about printing text as graphics and printing TrueType fonts as bitmap soft fonts, see the printed documentation that came with your printer.
