Description of the hotfix package in Office 2007

I have many times observed some or other errors coming with the message of the hotfix package. But till now I have never had knowledge about it. I have just read the topic about it in my tutorials while studying the Office 2007. So thought to take some help from you guys regarding about this topic. Please provide me some description of the hotfix package in Office 2007 Any other information related to this topic would also be grateful.

The problem of the Hotfix Package occurs if the following conditions are met, in the order in which they are presented :

1. You install the product Microsoft Office 2003 on the computer.
2. You install one or more 2007 Office system programs on the computer.
3. You repair or update the installation of Office 2003 product.

In this scenario, the old version of Name.dll file becomes the registered version. Owssupp.dll When the file is used, it tries to use features that are not available. This condition causes Internet Explorer blocked (stop responding).
