    Collaborative softwares online

    Hi,
    I got a question regrading the sharing of documents.If I am working Online and need to share a document within the online facility.Suppose,I have created a file online and want to give the access to other user means a group of user to write the contents on the file.Is it possible in a group.

    Why not,you can do this using the collaborative softwares which provides you to share your documents online.

    There are so many softwares and tools,we are using in real time which provides the same you are talking about.Software systems like Email, calendaring, text chatting,wiki and bookmarking belong to this category.

    Collaborative software which is also treated as groupware,work group support systems is software developed to facilitate people to performed the common task to achieve the goals.

    Collaborate on Documents Online

    We didn't feel in real time but there are so many ways through which we are achieving the task in a work group.

    There are some ways described here to collaborate the documents online -

    1- Ether Pad
    2- Google Docs
    3- Zoho
    4- Microsoft Office Live
    5- ThinkFree and etc

    So many tools and softwares are provided by developers to share the common things online.

    EtherPad provide you the real-time editing and collaboration of the text documents. It contains a mini chat environment and come-up with the posting of each user’s edits. It provides the facility to save and restore revisions of text.

    There are some disadvantages are also included with it- First, you can’t store any documents online .Additionally, there’s no anyway to export the completed documents and you also can’t access and use the Microsoft Office documents like the other options can.

    Collaborating Documents using Google Docs

    Google Docs offers the use to perform the same as they do with MS-Office Like you can create documents, spreadsheets and can easily design the presentations. They also provide good sharing facilities which means you can collaborate with others in real-time at the same time on the same documents.

    It also facilitate with an option to posting the document,blog or website and can make any changes which would be reflected directly to the blog or website automatically by itself. It feels as like a wiki and a blog publishing platform. A downside to Google Docs can’t facilitate you to chat with others users inside the Google Docs.

    To chat with another user,you can use the Gtalk.

    Think Free facilitates you with a slick suite of online apps similar to Zoho and Google Docs. You can use the web versions of this application or can install a desktop client that syncs with your online account and can involve in the task when goes offline.

    You can view the documents offline in Zoho and Google using Google gears claim but you can’t create new documents in offline mode. Think-free allows you to do everything just like the full features of the Microsoft Office suite.
