    Chroot in kde debian

    Hello.
I would like to know how to use kde debian chrooted gentoo since. That's how I realized the chroot:
    # mount / dev/sda5-t ext3 / mnt / debian / boot
    # mount / dev/hda6-t ext3 / mnt / debian
    # chroot / mnt / debian / bin / bash
Then, I logged in with the account administrator debian:
    Code:
    # su
    Password: XXXXXXXX
    # mount / dev/hda3 (mounting the home partition is also disassembled with gentoo)
    # bash
    # login monlogin
    Password: XXXXXXXX
I have tried changing it with KDE, but not successful , I like the KDE desktop so I am using it. If you guys know the solution for this then please let me know.

    Hello,
Even I am trying to change the chroot , that is trying to use this command , but it is not working, any ideas. I am a new under debian with my user account, and I would like to start kde. I tried
    Code:
    / etc / init.d / kdm start
(with the administrator account to run debian kdm)
    Code:
    startkde
The problem was when I exit the chroot. Under KDE, it "leave Environment. with kdm's "console login". The problem is that each of these two methods do not allow me to exit the chroot. I had the right or even several separate terminals (one for Debian, the rest under gentoo), I no longer have to find one. The screen remains black, I do not know what happens, I'm forced to reboot the machine to find gentoo. I would like to chroot to use a graphical environment while leaving gentoo compile and install.

    Hello,
It gets out of chroot by typing exit in the console. I think you should have a basic tutorial or documentation on debian and chroot and then start with the command. We left the chroot to type the command reboot of the live-cd to restart the computer. So just find a way to KDM killer and has to return the console to type "exit". I hope this information will help you.

    Hello,
Under debian, you have no way to stop kdm properly? Gentoo is typing this (as root) to the stop / etc / init.d / xdm stop. Yes, necessarily an equivalent in a corner. After that you should return your console chroot. I do not know what can give a ctrl + alt + FX can be consoles (virtual) server attached to the X-debian (I think it's config like this by default with debian), may be consoles gentoo.

    Hello,
What this principle has an attached console application? If you have kdm launched a virtual console, you should be able to kill a ctrl-c or killall, kill from another virtual console.
    Gentoo without X
under the virtual console 1 do
    chroot / mnt / debian
kdm & / / move the virtual console 7 often used for display
    ctrl + alt + 1 / / return a console 1
killall kdm / / should kill X meme tps that kdm
exit / / exit the chroot
    Hope this will help you.

    Hello,
Okay I understand better. Thank you very much. I do not know ctrl + alt + fX, and I did not know that X turned in the seventh virtual console. Thank you for that clarification. So alt + fX does not allow me to exit X, I was blocked. Thank you very much now I feel better. Your information has helped me a lot. If you have any additional information regarding this topic then I am the interested one.
