    Digitally Signed Applications in MAC

    Hi,
I need some information on Digital signed application used in MAC platform. I mails my document regularly but usually they are not encrypted. To determine the the genuine for the file I think digital signature are better. What are this types of application and how does they help in creating the valid document. Does this gives data protection too on the other hand. Thanks in advance.

This is an application that was signed digitally by a certification authority approved by the system (for code signing). All applications Apple Snow Leopard were signed by Apple and are allowed to receive incoming connections automatically. Other applications, such as Skype are too. By cons there are some which does not support this. Like Team Viewer which does not support this.

If you want to block a digitally signed application, it is necessary to add to the list of inbound connections, then the block explicitly choosing Block incoming connections beside his name in the list of connections. If you start an application unsigned is not yet in the list of inbound connections the firewall, in this case the dialog is authorization for you to choose to allow or refuse permission this application.

Some applications check their own integrity when they are executed without using code signing. If the firewall recognizes an application of this type, he does not sign, but later reopened the dialog authorization to launch each application. You can avoid this by updating a version of the application is signed by the developer or by manually adding the application in the list of inbound connections.

You'll see fewer windows permissions dialog appear on the screen, because all applications signed will be added automatically. You will have the dialog authorization only for unsigned applications. Some computer hackers look sophisticated networks to try to identify computers to attack. If security problems you worry, you can use Stealth Mode Mac OS X to make it difficult to access your computer to hackers.

That right when Stealth Mode is enabled, your computer does not respond to requests ping or attempts to connect a TCP or UDP port closed. Stealth mode prevents outgoing data as ARP, Hello and connections to the Internet to reveal the presence of your computer on the network. It is used in business firms for better security and safety of the downloads.
