Ventrilo not wanting to work with Windows 7

Well ever since I got my new computer with Windows 7 vent has yet to work I have been looknig around and nothing works.When i connect i get one of 2 errors
Failed to open input device. Another program might have it open already. rc = -10
OR
Failed to open input device. Another program might have it open already. rc = -1
not sure what to do and help would be nice, this is with Version 3.0.5. x64 bit

What sound card you are using with the system. And did you updated the driver of the same. AS it seems that the Windows 7 having some compatibility issue with the driver that are running with the older version and can not be run in the Windows 7 so upgrade the driver by downloading the latest and then try to run the same

Ever since I got windows 7 and my new computer, I can play wow without problems, untill I start vent, and after 5 minutes my whole sound just stops, no more sound. I have to reboot computer then or pull out the plug of sound and put it back in and if I'm lucky I don't have to try that too often and it works again.

It's probabely not the driver since i already downloaded it.

Running a I5 processor with latest 5800 ATI Radeon videocard

As you have updated the drivers and still you are facing the same problem, the ventrilo which is installed on the computer must be having some problems. Try removing the currently installed version of Ventrilo and download the installer for the latest version. Install the latest version and see if the problem continues. Before installing latest version, remove the keys which are related to the previous version.
