A SPIM message is sometime junk message and looks just like any other IM conversation with a link it. Most probable it will be come from someone on your buddy list. Please do not click the links unless you were infected by virus or threat. There are some common topics of the SPIM URL are diet pills, photo sharing and pornography. So don't open it. Best of luck.

You can do the following precaution, if you received a SPIN. You need to close that message windows without clicking the link. You can also tell the sender to confirm that what was it. If you receive that message consistently ,you need to change your Windows Live password and also make sure to run an anti-virus scan to ensure your PC is free of viruses. Best of luck.

If you are using a cyber cafe or any public terminal then clear your temporary Internet files and cache. Also close the browser that you are using when you are ready to end your Internet session. You can also take precaution that not to click "Remember my password" on messenger windows. Always use your Personal computer to login in messenger.
