    Outlook 2003, Lost "Send" button

I am using the Microsoft Outlook 2003 for email. It was working fine before I formatted my system because it was infected by the Virus. After installing the operating system Windows XP, I am facing some problem in Outlook 2003. Now the bar with "send" disappeared. the email window takes up the entire screen with no bars on top at all. I don't know how the Send button has lost from the MS Outlook 2003!? Does anyone know how to get the send button back?? Please help soon as possible.!!
IF you hate me, please don't mention it. I know who hates me and who doesn't. You really do not have to make fun of people....

Have you configured the e-mail account? Because I think that you must create an e-mail account for the Send button to be available. After you configure the e-mail account, on the Toolbar you will find the Send button and the Send command is available when you click the File menu. Also your problem will also get solved if you create the another account. Hope that you got some needful information from my post..!!

If the Send button is lost from the Outlook 2003, creating a new e-mail profile will definitely bring it back. Follow the steps for creating a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2003 :
    • Click on the Start Button and then click on the Run.
    • Then go to the Settings and Click on the Control Panel.
    • Then click the Classic View and then double-click on the Mail option. The Mail Setup dialog box opens.
    • After the Mail Setup dialog box opens, Click on Show Profiles.
    • When starting Microsoft Office Outlook, click on General tab and click on Prompt for a profile to be used, and then click Add.
    • Type the name that you want to use for the new e-mail profile in the Profile Name box and then click OK.
    • Then click on Add a new e-mail account in the E-mail Accounts dialog box and then click Next.
    • Click the appropriate server type for your new e-mail account, and then click Next.
    • Type your account information in the required boxes, and then click Next.
    • Click on Finish and then OK.

You can even re-create a mail profile by the following steps :
    1. Go to the Control Panel and then open the option Mail.
    2. Then click on the button Show Profiles.
    3. Press the button Add.
    4. Two things that you have to keep in Mind :
      • Do NOT use Copy, not even when you want to recreate your mail profile or you’ll end up copying the corruption as well
      • Do NOT delete your old profile, not even when it is corrupted, before you verified that the new one works.
    5. Then enter name for your profile.
    6. Select to add a new mail account.
    7. Be sure that you choose the correct account type.
    8. Then follow the instructions shown on screen to configure your account.

Re: Outlook 2003, Lost "Send" button

Before creating the new account I would like to suggest you to try this thing out. Just rename the outcmd to outcmd.old and after renaming that file restart your Outlook application. You can find the outcmd.dat in the location C:\Documents and Settings\"user"\Application Data\Outlook\outcmd.dat . Hope that it will work properly. If it is not working then you can try to create a new account for E-Mails.

Even I think that renaming the outcmd.dat will resolve your issue. If you are not able to find the outcmd.dat then try to search the hidden files and folders. Since many system files are hidden by default, many times the searching will not show that file. Its mostly located in C:\Documents and Settings\"user"\Application Data\Outlook\outcmd.dat path. You can try to search manually or try to use Search option. Just make sure that you are including the hidden files and folders in the search options.
