Equivalent to pinnacle studio under linux

    Hello,
I need to create a slideshow with lots of transitions and effects, I generally use pinnacle studio, but it bothers me to reinstall Windows for this. I'm searching, I found no equivalent to pinnacle studio under Gnu / Linux. I tested imagination man2DVD, kino, openshot. The single has almost openshot is usable, but it lacks many features compared to pinnacle. I wonder if for once free is not a little late in the field of video editing. What else software can you guys can suggest me?

    Hello,
Have you tried kdenlive? I think you should try this software. Under Karmic, the official website of kdenlive recommend using version 0.7.6. For downloading and installing information you can visit their official site. Is a middleware video editing. It is capable of nonlinear editing of video and uses the framework video MLT. It is multitrack audio-video, allows the use of transitions, effects, videos and audios with a clear and intuitive interface. It is unusual since version 0.7 to accept the high definition format.

    Hello,
Thank you for your reply. In fact I have not tried kdenlive because I am under gnome, but hey I guess it also works under gnome? I had heard from my friend that Kde softwares run on gnome, but one have to install the kde libraries first. I have not tried this yet. And one more question if I download and install the required kde libraries, will the gnome desktop environment will be effected by it? Any help will be appreicated.

    Hello,
Actually it also works in Gnome. I'm using version 0.7.6 and it works quite well (I have just a slight desync sound / video from time to time in the preview, but it disappears for export). Otherwise you can try Cinelerra, but is still more complicated to use, I have never tried this software. But once I had read about it. Cinelerra is a complete editing tool, it can read, edit, cut, paste different audio and video media. Cinelerra has some editing features such as transitions and sound effects. Finally, Cinelerra is a powerful editing tool to create video effects complex.

    Hey
I think you're right. There was a delay at this level. But this delay is being filled: OpenShot example, was started in 2008 and is already quite functional, and will continue to evolve. Another project to watch, but is in an embryonic state, is Lombard, A video editor for GNOME. In fact, I consulted the database applications of Wine, and unfortunately Pinnacle Studio seems impossible to install.

    Hi,
Hi I think you should try Blender. Blender is a suite of entertainment and consequently has a mounting interface rather complete. To access it in Blender you select in the interface pre-configured "Sequence" (drop-down menu above) or shortcut "Ctrl + Right Arrow. For more information on Blender you can visit their official site.
