The Nokia music manager gives the option to convert the Audio file to the Mp3 and the AAC formats because the Nokia 5300 mobile phone supports both types of the audio files. The AAC files requires less space than the Mp3 files. Also the Audio quality of this AAC files are very good. You have not heard of this audio formats because all devices not support this audio formats. And this file format is made by the Apple to run on their music players like iPOD , iphone etc.

Re: mp3 or AAC, Which is better audio format?

The MP3 format is well known audio formats. This audio format works with all the mobile phones , portable media players , DVD players and all the other devices which supports the audio files. The MP3 format is used for the music files and AAC is also used for the Music files. But AAC files are not supported by all the music devices and the VD players. So if you want to play the AAC music files on all the system, You need to first convert these files to the MP3 format. These files are supported by default in the APPLE products.

Re: Some details about the MP3 files

The MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 also known as the MP3 is is the registered trademark of the digital audio encoding format for the music or the audio files. This is the common audio format for people to store the music files. This is also the standard which is used for the digital audio compression for the transferring and playback of the audio or the music files on the digital media players. MP3 is the pure audio files format which was developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group who were the part of the MPEG-1 standard.
