    Adobe Flash Player Help

    Hello,

I think I used to have Adobe Flash Player 9-something on my computer. I uninstalled it a while back in order to free up some disc space (another problem I will address later). Today, I downloaded Flasher Player 10.0.46.34 or some such from the Adobe site. After the download, the website said if everything had gone well, I should see a little movie or some such and some words underneath on their page to indicate that Flash Player was working. Well, nothing appeared.

I rebooted the computer, but still nothing appeared. I downloaded it again, and still nothing appeared. Some how, all though it shows up in the list of programs on Add/Remove programs, I do not think it is really "there." I cannot find it in "ALL PROGRAMS" from the start button. I ran a computer search, and the search did not pull it up either. Yet, it appears in the list of programs in ADD/REMOVE Programs.

I called Adobe, but they were absolutely no help whatsoever. I was told to just go to the support portal on their website, which I did do. I had to register, give my email, etc., etc, and after all of that, I STILL did not make contact with any tech support people.

The reason I care about Flash Player is I *think* that not having Flash Player is causing my viewing of some websites to be very, very, very slow, e.g. eBay auction pages. Anyone know what to do?

I use Windows XP Home Edition and IE. This is what came with my computer which is now about six years old.

    Thanks!

    Re: Adobe Flash Player Help

Flash Player is free software that lets you view web content created by Flash. Before you install Flash Player for any Windows browser, uninstall all previous versions and restart your computer. Adobe Flash Player is the standard for delivering high-impact, rich Web content. Designs, animation, and application user interfaces are deployed immediately across all browsers and platforms, attracting and engaging users with a rich Web experience. All applications must be closed before you run the Flash Player uninstaller, including all Internet Explorer windows, other browser windows, and Instant Messenger clients.

Thank you Kimlotus. I think it worked. Once I put that code into the "run" option, it pulled up the files. It asked me if I wanted to install or not, and I chose to install, so I think it must be functioning. Why Windows search did not pull it up, I am unable to say. Although I presume it is working now, the eBay auctions that have those "Auctiva" and other "store fronts" are still taking a long time to load. I guess it must be eBay's system that is the problem.

You would think Adobe would have the same information you gave me posted on their website!

Thanks again and Merry Christmas! : )

Whenever needed, try removing useless stuff with Registry Crawler & afterward, make a disk search on the c:\drive with the same arguments. It's radical!!

    Merry Christmas to you!!

Have a look on the web; it's a very interesting tool for browsing in Win's registry & to clean it ... at your own risk.
