Look out for the drivers that you have installed for the audio device or the sound card. As you have upgraded your system to Windows 7 it is essential that you need to uninstall the drivers related to the sound device and then re install it again in order to work with the system. Especially it is recommended that you need to install updated drivers for the same. Follow the necessary ailments.

A clean boot will make the things to work in order to make it execute properly. This can be done by following the certain steps as follows:

    * Click on the start button of desktop
    * The click on run command.
    * Type msconfig and then hit enter.

Uninstall the media player that you are using and try out the same using some other media player. Check out whether it gives the same output. This could be the issue related with the media software also. Not necessarily with the operating system. There might be some bug associated with the player. Use Windows media player 11 or VLC media player. If it works fine then the issue is related to he media player as it skips music and scratches.
