How To Recover a Microsoft Word Document

I was having Microsoft Office 2003. Then I upgraded my Office version to 2007. After installing some of my .doc files got corrupted. When I am trying to open that file it is not displaying the contents correctly. Is there any way to to repair a word document? I cannot make that thing again since it is very difficult to create the same whole thing again. Can someone help me to isolate this problem.??

You can repair your data by trying the following steps :

    1. Save the document that is got corrupted into another file format. You can use the .txt for Plain Text or .rtf for Rich Text. Then you convert this file again to Word.
    2. Copy the whole things except the damaged portion of the document to a new document.
    3. Try to repair the document by using the "Open and Repair" option. You will get this option in Open dialog box, which comes after pressing the File option. Then select the document in the open dialog and click the arrow by the Open button and select Open and Repair.
    4. Later you can use the Recover Text from Any File converter. This can be done by selecting "Recover Text from Any File (*.*)" from the Open Dialog box.
After doing this you will get the part of your document which was not damaged.

You can also try the following steps for Recovering the Text which you wanted :

    1. First click on Start, then on Run. In Run type winword /a and click on OK. Try to open that specific document using this copy of Word.
    2. The document which is damaged, try to insert that document into a new document. You can do this by creating a new document, then clicking on Insert, and select the damaged file and then click Insert.
    3. Now open the Notepad or the Wordpad, and resave it as a new file. Paste the document into new Word document.
    4. You can use the converter from the File menu, after clicking on Open dialog box, select "Recover Text from Any File (*.*)".

If you are not able to recover that certain document. I would like to suggest you to download the word recovery software which will help you to recover your damaged document. You can get this software from the following link :

After installing this software yo will have to just select the damaged document and the software will repair it for you. Hope this will help to fix your problem.

Several times the "Recovery Text from any File" doesn't help. So even I would like to recommend to install the Recovery Tool which will help you to repair the Damaged documents. Even if you have deleted some document recently, you will able to recover those documents using the Recovery Software. So no worry even after deleting the documents.
