When i bought it at that it was showing the C drive space as the 20 GB with the Windows 7 operating system installed in it but within in one week it is showing the C drive space as the 40 GB which is the double of the storage i have seen before. So can anyone help me regarding the same.

    Hi there,

It is not the problem of the hard disk you do not require of the hard disk management task. It is just the storage issue. C drive always contain the system file and the file which you install for your use as MS office and the third party software. They will occupy the space in the c drive only as it is the default drive so check for the program you have installed on you system that how much space they have occupied.

    Thank you

    Hey,

If you are using the internet for the long time then also it is possible that your temporary file contain the more amount of the temporary data. But the question is still, same that even the same don't contain the data more then the 1 GB and as per your discussion you are having the the problem of the doubled space in one week that little bit scary. Do one thing to check your drive and gauge and which folder is occupying the space much which is not known to you.

    Bye

As above mention that look for the folder that which occupy the space much, to help that there are lots of the software are available which will see the inside the system folder. Also "Cacls" command the penetrate the System Information folder. Windows explorer provide the help by exploring the each file so that you can visit each individually . You can also try the Folder option which will enable you with the hidden file view. Also run the dick scanning for the error of the dick drive.

Hope this all method will help you.

If you want to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, use Disk Cleanup. It removes temporary files, empties the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of system files and other items that you no longer need.

    • Open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking Disk Cleanup.
    • In the Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, choose whether you want to clean up your own files only or all of the files on the computer. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    • If the Disk Cleanup: Drive Selection dialog box appears, select the hard disk drive that you want to clean up, and then click OK.
    • Click the Disk Cleanup tab, and then select the check boxes for the files you want to delete.
    • When you finish selecting the files you want to delete, click OK, and then click Delete files to confirm the operation. Disk Cleanup proceeds to remove all unnecessary files from your computer.
